My 10 day Plan.....

Business is shit and I'm really struggling to make ends-meet
I got a few orders this week, only problem is that I have no money to fulfil those - I got a £500.00 deposit from a customer and I have 10 days to turn that into £1200.00, so that I can buy 2 PC's for the customer...

Day 1: Sales women from energy company asks to speak to the boss, I told her that we do not need any energy, because we are self-sufficient, because of the new Solar-Panels that we've just fitted, hell, we are even selling energy back to the national grid and she was surprised because she was talking to the boss earlier that day, and he didn't know anything about it.  I got a deposit of a customer. New Balance £500.00

Day 2: I bought 2 PC's, 1 Touchscreen & 1 Thermal Printer, (all second user from ebay) + 2 New Cash Draws, also from ebay - Managed to get a £100.00 part payment from a customer - Petrol £30.00. New Balance £290.00

Day 3: A bit of wheeling and dealing netted me £300.00 - Wife decided to go and pay Council Tax (WHY?) & some shopping. New balance £340.00

Day 4: Sold one of the second user PC's to a customer for £100.00 (£70.00 profit). Sold a network terminal software licence for £170.00 - Petrol £30.00 - Tyre blow-out on motorway. Spare tyre is much bigger than the original tyre, fitting that was a nightmare, I had to deflate it before it would fit in place, in-spite of maxing the jack in order lift the car, but I lived to tell the tale. New Balance £580.00

Day 5: Need 2 new tyres. The 2 New eBay Cash Draws are not working, all in one PC's are sold out at SimplyAsus.com. New balance £460.00 and I'm still not getting there..

Day 6: Bought 2 More Cash Draws (£80.00) - 1 New PC (£190.00) - 1 New Touchscreen (£190.00). New balance £0.00 and I'm still not getting there..

Day 7: I went to a customer to sort our their network; his Caller ID wasn't working: so Borrowed it to test;). Got paid £100.00 - Petrol £30.00. New Balance £70.00.

Day 8-11: Went to work, Bolton-Stockport, Got a new Star Printer from work - Petrol £30.00. New Balance £40.00.

I'm already past my 10 day bullshit plan.

Day 12: Installed Windows on the new PC, supplied that with Touchscreen Monitor, Star Printer & The Caller ID that I've borrowed in day 7, to a customer:  New Balance. £1200.00

Day 13:

[23:31:38] Business is a BIG gamble
[23:31:52] you don't know if it's going to work or not
[23:32:04] if it's gonna be a success or not
[23:32:22] if the customers are going to come and stay or not
[23:33:46] and if you make it with something new, then would the competition not do the same, but cheaper
[23:35:17] Believe me, I might not look it, and I might pretend to be something else, but I'm very careful and I plan every single step in advance
[23:35:58] it took me over twenty years before I decided to work for myself,
[23:36:12] and I thought I had everything figured out
[23:36:24] but then, the shit hit the fan
[23:36:44] and I'm back to square zero with a 10 day plan

I've seen the light - Do not publish yet

July 20th 2012

Since I started working at the new establishment, I always thought why employ a Ukrainian office manageress "R", who can't speak English very well, and whom nobody can understand...

attempt at a Ukrainian humour

Today, I got my answer when I saw our married boss snogging the VERY FIT Ukrainian office manageress, who cannot speak a word of English to save her life - But did I say she was fit, with a toned body, Venus would be proud of ;) (Mmmm... Those curves).

She told me that, every year, she likes to write a list of things that she will do, and she usually does those. Like last year, she wanted her teeth straightened, whitened & veneered over (or whatever they call it), so she written that on the list and managed to achieve it, by picking a dentist for a boyfriend, and making him fix her teeth and then dumping him...

I still don't know how to pick a dentist for a boyfriend, do you ask them first..

[Fit Manageress] - So, what do you do for a living.. (in a heavy Russian accent).
[Prospective Date] - I am a Plastic Surgeon...
[Fit Manageress] - OK, you can come back in 12 months.

And to the Boss, Maximum Respect...

My New Old Car - Grease is the word... Part II

You can read the original article here:

Shortly after publishing the above article, my car failed the yearly MOT - so I went for another car - this died a year later, while driving on the Motorway (my fault for not heeding the flashing replace oil warning light).

Now, I'm vehicle-less and I need a cheap & reliable car - I usually try autotrader for my lemons, but this time my wife found a car that sounded too good to be true, on none other than gumtree - a car that has everything that I was looking for, cheap & reliable.

Low Milage - Kia Mentor  54k

FULL MASSIVE COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE HISTORY FROM BRAND NEW
Fully serviced and full up to date service history from brand new. All documentation, books, manuals and owners guides etc...

Starts on the button, first time every time at the first flick of the key. Engine is full of power and so silky smooth that you can't even hear it running, it purrs like a kitten. Gearbox is clockwork crisp precise, with no play whatsoever. Engine bay is totally pristine just like when it came off the production line, and you could eat your dinner off the engine, its that clean. No rattles, noises or leaks whatsoever.

Wonderful car throughout. Beautiful, clean interior, from a non-smoking household - Lots more....Please ask if I missed anything important to you...

This car has clearly been the owners pride and joy, and has wanted for nothing, regardless of cost. Fully Maintained to an extremely high standard indeed. Everything about this car feels crisp, sharp & Factory Precise

A real pleasure to look at, and a real pleasure to drive

And now for the reality - driving this from Sale (Manchester) to Bolton wasn't bad - the car did perform admirably, apart from the slight knocking sound when I set off.

12 miles later and all hell broke loose - the engine lost all power and instead a jumpy and jerkiness replaced the smooth movement.

The cat stopped purring - the motor-shed started roaring - The bracket holding the exhaust pipe in place fell off in the road, the smell of death or dog / cat piss has become apparent within the interior of the car...

#According to the seller, the car only covered 54k miles & yet, the last MOT 12months ago, the car had already covered 63k - so somebody was driving the car in reverse for a full year...

And now, I'm the proud owner of another lemon....

Goodbye XP - Hello XP....

Everybody is aware of the demise of Windows XP and the end of support from Microsoft for OS - 50 days ago (8th April 2014)..

I'm not going to scare you into buying a new computer or upgrading or changing your operating system to the new fan-dangled, all singing all dancing, more secure OS, instead I will share my experience of securing my own OS for FREE, and you can do the same if you so wish..  I posted the following on a yahoo forum on the day. I hope it can help somebody somewhere.

Nothing will happen - Just keep using the same PC and do the same thing, and remember when was the last time that you needed any help and support from M$ or anybody else. And if scared by all the publicity BS, then just follow those few simple steps and you will be fine:
[1] Use a good 3rd Party Anti-Virus (Free is Good) & not the Bloated Norton

[2] Use a good Firewall - The Windows one will do

[3] Download and install a GOOD HOSTS FILE (there is no place like 127.0.0.1)

[4] Use a different Browser (Firefox / Chrome)

[5] Use Adblock+

[6] Use Smart Toolbar Remover to get rid of all those pesky toolbars

[7] Remove all search Widgets from the desktop

[8] Browse with Sandboxie / Run software within that prior to installing anything
[9] Use NoScripts browser add on

And now for some good news, and if you really must, you can extend XP support until 2019, but you do need XP SP-3 installed first..
[1] Create a new text file and call it "anything.reg"

[2] Enter the following lines in the file (copy and paste)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\PosReady]
"Installed"=dword:00000001

 [3] Save the file
[4] Double click the file and answer yes to the question

This will trick XP into thinking that it's PosReady OS and support & security updates will continue until 9th April 2019...

The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom - Rabbit Movie Review

If only things are so simple and the title truly conveys what's inside the box.  I watched this movie in the hope of seeing some nudity. Sadly, this did not pan out to be true - So after 5 or so minutes, I decided to use my Rabbit Speed Button to skim through the predictable story line in the vain hope of finding some nudity, sadly to no avail....

I watched the full movie in less than 7 minute flat - at 5 and a half Rabbit speed setting, and I'm still disappointed at the misleading title.
