Don’t let life get in the way of living…

Few Words of Wisdom....

We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.

When the rich wage war, its the poor that die.

Не who has no money, needs no purse.

God's mill grinds slowly, but surely.

Trust in God, but steer away from the rocks.

A beard doesn't make a philosopher.

Even fools are right sometimes.

If you lie, remember.

A silent fool is counted wise.

Grasp all, lose all.

As you sow, so shall you reap.

No New Royal Yacht :(

Prime Minister David Cameron has offered his support to a project to create a new Royal Yacht to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, but has ruled out spending public money on the vessel.

The Queen owns land and estates that are managed by the Government. Income from that land earns the government 100's of millions a year. Out of that the crown is supposed to get an allowance equivalant to getting a dividend from shares.. That allowance has been constantly cut over the years (as we are told by government after Government that the Royal purse comes from public) that the crown has often been the brunt of cuts as a result of politics for longer than most people realise. I am not exactly a pro Royalist, but even I can see the disparity over what the Government gets for managing those lands as opposed to what the crown gets. So perhaps the Country could give a descent present out of the money earned. Although I don't particularly agree with a boat

Let’s be quite clear about the true nature of the Crown Estate: It is not and never has been the personal property of the Windsor family.
The Crown Estate has always been there to provide funds for the running of the government. A long time ago the government consisted of the King and his Privy Council. To pay for the apparatus of the state, which was much simpler and cheaper back then, the Crown Estate raised revenue that went directly to the King.
In the 18th century the job of government was moved from the palace to the parliament, so revenue from the Crown Estate was transferred to the Treasury. Of course that money had also been used to run the palace and fund the lives of the King and his family. So in order to ensure the King could continue to run his palace in the style to which he was accustomed the government of the day set up the Civil List, a payment to the palace by the government.
That’s it. There was no personal sacrifice on the part of the monarch. There is no personal claim on the Crown Estate from the Windsor family.

So it is dishonest to claim the Crown Estate revenue somehow makes the millions paid to sustain those parasites OK. It doesn’t.

Good Idea, Bad Idea...

Today I tried the new Toaster Friendly Burger - Good Idea, Less than Average Taste... http://www.tillmanstoastme.co.uk/

And in the words of a wise man:
"I used to work for Northern Foods, - a good butcher never wastes anything Whistle"

And believe me when I say, they did not waste any part of the Cow when they made these.

Spot the difference...

Question: - Can you spot the difference between Adapter A & Adapter B?

I was doing a job at one of my customers the other day & I needed a 2 Way Telephone Adaptor, I usually have a few of these with me, however, I forgot to bring any with me on this occasion - so I went out looking for a £ shop, where you can buy a couple of these adaptors for £1.00, however & on this occasion, the nearest shop that had these adapters, was Comet, & because I was desperate, I decided to buy one of these adaptor's from Comet...   And now back to the question..
Can you spot the difference between Adapter A & Adapter B?

and the answer is:
-
Adapter A costs £0.50, while Adapter B costs £6.12

I love Capitalism & Freedom of Choice.... But still, this pails in comparison to the USB to Serial Adaptor I purchased from RS-Components, for £47.00 - You can buy that for anything between (£2.00-£14.00), from anywhere else in the world.

The Circle of Life....

One of my customers, a multi millionaire, has given me the secret to being wealthy in the UK... Start a limited company, making sure that it has no assets (those are in the name of another limited company), buy a lot of stuff on credit & sell it to the holding company at knock down price, or do whatever you want with it, and after 1.5 years, the company goes bankrupt & the creditors lose everything while you are left free to do the same thing all over again - bearing in mind that you will not be able to be a director of another limited company, for 5 years, but this does not stop you from restarting another company with your wife or kiddies....

And who said "Honesty does not pay"....
